I posted a new review on my Selective Focus blog today. "Track of the Cat" (1954) is an example of the psychological Western. The film, adapted from Walter Van Tilburg Clark's novel, is an examination of the Bridges family as it is menaced by an elusive black panther. Mitchum plays the middle son, Curt, whose narcissistic ambitions disrupt the family dynamic. Here's a link to the article.
